Curriculum
At Parap Primary School, the Australian Curriculum informs all teaching and learning programs, including English, Mathematics, Real Life Inquiry, Technologies, The Arts, Health and Physical Education.
The Australian Curriculum General Capabilities play a significant role in equipping young Australians to live and work successfully in the twenty-first century.
In the Australian Curriculum, capability encompasses knowledge, skills, behaviours and dispositions. Students develop capability when they apply knowledge and skills confidently, effectively and appropriately in complex and changing circumstances, in their learning at school and in their lives outside of school.
The Cross-curriculum priorities help equip students with the skills, knowledge and understanding that will enable them to engage effectively with and prosper in a globalized world.
The capabilities’ continuum can assist teachers to cater for student diversity and personalized learning. Students with disabilities will be supported through the collaborative development of their Education Adjustment Plan to ensure that specific learning needs are being met.
Mathematics
At Parap Primary School the Australian Curriculum (AC) directs our Mathematics teaching and learning programs. Our beliefs about mathematics align with the AC where we believe that mathematics creates opportunities and enriches the lives of all Australians. Our Mathematics programs are organised around the three content strands and four proficiency strands.
Real Life Inquiry
At Parap Primary School every student has the opportunity to experience success within a warm and welcoming classroom and school environment that values diversity, inclusion, and participation. Every staff member ensures that students are provided with the support appropriate to their individual academic, social, emotional, physical and sensory needs with the aim for all students to be ‘Ready to Learn’.
The Arts
At Parap Primary School we view The Arts as having the capacity to engage, inspire and enrich all students, exciting the imagination and encouraging them to reach their creative and expressive potential. We actively value and explore all areas of The Arts throughout all year levels.

Health & Physical Education
At Parap Primary School we provide physical activity for students from Transition to Year Six with a program that is aligned with the Australian Curriculum and our School Values. Physical Education helps students increase physical activity, learn about their own health, and create a positive attitude to overall fitness. Students explore the effects physical health has on our lives while building and improving their individual motor skills and interests in a variety of sports.
